New Whole Foods Market in Chicago’s Gold Coast Neighborhood

Novak Construction Company is pleased to announce the opening of a new Whole Foods Market in the new One Chicago high-rise at State Street and Chicago Street (3 W. Chicago Ave). This construction, fit, and finish of this 66,000-square-foot, two-story flagship store exemplifies the high standards and craftsmanship of the surrounding Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods. Each department features unique décor, custom architectural elements, and high-quality products that will delight discerning customers.

For this latest partnership, Whole Foods engaged Novak for pre-construction assistance and early material procurement in the fourth quarter of 2020. Together with BRR Architecture and Henderson Engineers, Novak and Whole Foods performed heavy coordination with the building’s shell team through the third quarter of 2021 to ensure proper planning, sequencing, and logistics for the interdependent shell and build-out scopes. Novak began the build-out construction in September 2021 and delivered the store to Whole Foods a week early in March 2022 to begin stocking.
